Mrs. Evelyn D. Eveslage

October 21, 1934 - May 10, 2011

Evelyn Doris Eveslage, 76, of North Vernon passed away at 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born in Cincinnati, OH on October 21, 1934, Mrs. Eveslage was the daughter of Chester & Emily Burris Griffith. She married Robert Eveslage on January 7, 1961. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1984.

Evelyn worked at Kenner Toys in Lockland, OH where she retired in 1974 after 18 years of employment. She loved flowers, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Eveslage is survived by a daughter, Melissa Wilson of North Vernon; three sons, Charles Burriss, Paul Burriss and Robert Eveslage all of North Vernon; two brothers Viola Griffith of Felicity, OH and Glenn Griffith of Hidden Valley Lake, IN; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Anthony Burriss; five sisters, Freda Dew, Mildred Northcutt, Pat Cortney, Maxine Mullins and Thelma Griffith.

Funeral Information

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Brush Creek Cemetery.
