Mrs. Evelyn M. Ashpaugh

Evelyn M. Ashpaugh, 66, of North Vernon passed away at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Columbus on September 9, 1944, Mrs. Aspaugh was the daughter of Leslie and Bessie Burton. She married Jerry Ashpaugh in January of 1989.

Mrs. Ashpaugh worked as the director of Ohio Valley Opportunities and specialized in helping senior citizens in Jennings County. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, sewing, gardening and her family. Evelyn was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Larry Coulter Jr. of North Vernon; four daughters, Jennie Coulter of North Vernon, Deborah Coulter of Deputy, Bobbie Levack of Commiskey and Sheila Woodruff of Columbus; a brother, Dale Burton of North Vernon; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eleven brothers and sisters

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Delbert Riddle officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
