Eugene E. Ebbing, 59 of North Vernon passed away at 1:49 AM Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his residence.
Born November 4, 1953 in Columbus, Eugene was the son of the late Richard and Mary Alice Bucci Ebbing. He married Elizabeth Cornett December 22, 1973. She survives.
Eugene graduated from Jennings County High School in 1972. He worked at Cummins Engine Company for thirteen and a half years before co-founding Ebbing Auto Parts, Inc. with his brother John in 1986.
Mr.Ebbing was a very dedicated member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners. He was a generous donor to many local charities and organizations. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph's, Spencer Township Fire Department, and North Vernon Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Eugene is survived by one son, Andrew(Stephanie) Ebbing of North Vernon; one daughter, Jennifer Ebbing of Indianapolis; two brothers, John (Rose) Ebbing of North Vernon and Tony (Darlene) Ebbing of Osgood; four sisters, Cathy (James) Wardrop, Theresa Peacock and Rosemary (Tom) Hyde, all of North Vernon, and Anna Marie (Paul) Palazzolo of Detroit, MI; and two granddaughters, Emily Jean and Allison Jo Ebbing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Proctor.
Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners. Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 2:30 PM at the funeral home.
Donations Information
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County or St. Vincent DePaul.
