Mrs. Esther Marie Delay

October 18, 1926 - September 14, 2008

Ester Marie Delay, 81, of Columbus (formerly of North Vernon), passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Born October 18, 1926 in Osgood, IN, she was the daughter of Clyde and Bertha Rose Webster, they preceded her in death. She married Jesse James Delay; he also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Delay retired from ITT after 26 years of service. She was a member of the Lakeview Christian Church of Columbus. Mrs. Delay enjoyed cooking, playing euchre, rook, yard sales, and fishing.
Mrs. Delay is survived a son, Ted (Susan) Westerman of North Vernon, two daughters, Janet (Greg) Burns of Columbus and Fran (Huey) Campbell of Seymour, one step-daughter, Linda (David) Huy of Mississippi, several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and one brother, Earl "Buster" (Betty) Beach of Midway, OH.
Mrs. Delay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jesse James Delay, a sister, Gladys Palmer, step-son, Basil Delay, and a step-daughter, Sharon Delay.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be Thursday evening at 7 PM, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with the Rev. Rich Grant officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be 11 AM, Friday, September 19, 2008 at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison.
