Mrs. Elsie Pempek

March 25, 1919 - May 28, 2009

Elsie Pempek, 90, of Dupont, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 8:35 AM at Davis Elderly Care of Madison.

Born March 25, 1919 in Harlan, KY., she was the daughter of the late Bradley and Martelia (Howard) Nolan. She later married Louis Pempek.

Mrs. Pempek was a homemaker, enjoyed making quilts, sitting outside, and working word puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Alice Miller of Madison, Patty Fuelner of Frankin, Mary Miller of Dupont, Anna Oliver and Barbara Huffman of Madison, three brothers, Harrison Nolan, Clyde Nolan and Murphy Nolan all of Cold Iron, KY., and a sister Ethel Goins of Belvidere, Illinois, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, Louis Pempek Jr., Clifford Nolan and Bobby Nolan, a brother, Lawrence "Doc" Nolan and two sisters, Florence Kallum and Ruth Alread.

Funeral Information

The visitation will be on Monday at 11:00-1:00 PM with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM. Arrangements are in care of Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon. Burial will be at the Dupont Cemetery.
