Eleanor Virginia Malcomb, 84, of Columbus, formerly of Commiskey, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, surrounded by her loved ones.
Eleanor was born March 25, 1929, in Perry County, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph and Clara (Robbins) Cart. She retired after 29 years at Muscatatuck State Hospital where she worked in Medical Records.
Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events, participating in Card Club, gardening, homemaking, cooking and following Indiana University Basketball. Overall, she will be remembered for her deep love of family.
Eleanor is survived by her siblings Irene Simmons of Paris Crossing, Ronie Cart (Janice) of Madison and Richard Cart (Alta) of Deputy; children Larry Malcomb (Darla) of Deputy and Nancy Helt (Randy) of Columbus; grandchildren Justin Brown, Kristina Lindquist, Jessica Sullivan, Sarah McKinney, Allen Malcomb, Eric Malcomb and Donnie Malcomb, as well as five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Ralph O. Cart, Raymond Cart, Howard Cart, John Cart; and her companion John McAlister.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon. Rev. Robbie King will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday, November 29, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Coffee Creek Christian Cemetery in Paris Crossing.
Donations Information
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor's honor to Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery Fund and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
