Elbert Howard, 55, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:39 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on March 4, 1968, in Indianapolis, Elbert was the loving son of Clarence and Delphia (White) Howard. He was united in marriage to Cathy Driver. She survives.

Elbert worked as a handyman. He enjoyed working on cars, going fishing, and watching football. Most of all Elbert loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Cathy Howard of North Vernon, survivors include daughters, Stephanie Driver, Ginger Howard, Bobbie Sue Howard, Michelle Howard, and Haley Howard all of North Vernon; sons, Elbert Howard Jr., and Zachary Howard both of North Vernon, and Kevin Howard of Ohio; brothers, Doug, and Lloyd Howard both of North Vernon; fourteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Delphia Howard; sister, Juanita Stevens; brothers, David and Clarence Jr. Howard.
