Mrs. Elaine E. Herron

February 28, 1941 - December 10, 2013

Elaine E. Herron, 72, of North Vernon passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born February 28, 1941 in Greensburg, Elaine was the daughter of Richard and Leona Ortman Davis. She married Gary Herron November 17, 1984. He preceded her in death in June of 1995.

Elaine retired from Cummins, Inc. where she worked as a materials specialist. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and enjoyed coaching softball, playing golf, cards, and bowling.

She is survived by her mother, Leona Ortman Davis Brewer of Columbus; daughters, Teresa (Dennis) Gholson of North Vernon, and Lisa (Doug) Caseltine of Columbus; one sister, Kathy (Nathan) Garrett of Columbus; three grandchildren, Ashley (Braden) Grider, Amber Monday, and Brooke O'Mara.

She was preceded in death by her father, and husband.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. A rosary service will be held at 3:30 PM at the funeral home.
