Edwin "Shot" Bryant, 74, of North Vernon, passed away on December 17, 2016, at his residence.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. The Rev. Gill Hawkes will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born June 23, 1943, in Mitchellsburg, KY, Edwin was the son of the late Roscoe and Anna Laura (Holman) Bryant Lee. He married Beverly Pickett on October 23, 1965, and she survives.

Edwin retired from Martinrea after 40 years of employment as a set-up technician. He served in the United States Army, and was a member of Restoration Fellowship Church, where he served as music leader. He loved sports, played softball, and was a fan of Kentucky Wildcat basketball and NASCAR. He had driven stock cars, and enjoyed playing the guitar.

In addition to his wife, Beverly, Edwin is survived by daughter, Anna Leah (David) Cottongim of Plainfield; two sons, David Allen (Amanda) Bryant of Dupont and Chad Edwin Bryant of North Vernon; four brothers, Jim Bryant of Hope, Danny Bryant of North Carolina, Lloyd Bryant of Indianapolis, and Ronnie Lee of Elk Cave, KY; three sisters, Mary Broyles of Mitchellsburg, KY, Bobby Carol Howell of Indianapolis, and Brenda Dvorak of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Daniel, Mackenzie and Maverick Bryant, Matthew Estes and Erika Jo Coriaty; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Betty Day Bryant; and sister, Rita Clarkston.
