Edward Young, 76, of North Vernon passed away at 6:28 PM on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Schneck Medical Center.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Rev. Damon Marling will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born in Hazard, KY on January 30, 1941, Edward was the son of William and Judy Adams Young. He married Betty Wilhite on June 6, 1970.

He worked for Arvin Industries and retired from Pilot Industries. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to flea markets.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Betty Young of North Vernon; sons, Keith and Darren Young of North Vernon, and Randy Calvert of Columbus; brothers, Milford "Pete" Young, and Jimmie Young of North Vernon; sister, Juanita Combs of North Vernon; grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Shyann, Derek, Seth, and Keith Young Jr., and Valerie and Heather Calvert; great-grandson, Braylen Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, and James Young; sisters, Helen Cummings, and Verda Keen; grandson, James Young.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Vernon Baptist Church.
