Mrs. Edna Mae Vance

August 20, 1940 - May 10, 2013

Edna Mae Vance, 72, of North Vernon, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born August 20, 1940, in Cincinnati, OH, Edna was the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth Fraasman Tippitt. She married her husband of 55 years, Johnnie Vance on April 12, 1958. He survives.

A homemaker, Edna was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her husband, Edna is survived by a son, Johnnie Vance, Jr., of North Vernon; three daughters, Debbie (Jeffrey) Feaster of Franklin, Denise (Martin) Quintana of Junction City, KS, and Melissa (Randy) Gross of North Vernon; three brothers, Bill Tippitt of Sunman, Jim Tippitt of Cincinnati and Ray Tippitt of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Pat Cowans of Lawrenceburg; 14 grandchildren, Denny, Jeremy, Jennifer and Stephanie Feaster, Randy Jr., Kevin, Kayla, Laura and Renee Gross, Elizabeth wills, Michael Quintana, Susan Elizalde, Theresa Frewerd and Marylin Vance Burton; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Vance; an infant son; and a sister, Betty E. Roszell.

Funeral Information

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Ron Bridgewater will officiate.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Komen for the Cure or Children's Childhood Cancer Foundation.
