Mrs. Edna Marie Coryell

December 18, 1918 - December 01, 2012

Edna Marie Coryell, 93, of North Vernon passed away at 11:30 AM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her residence.

Born December 18, 1918 in Jennings County, Edna was the daughter of Jessie and Anna Hodson Pearson. She married Elmer Coryell August 17, 1941. He preceded her in death November 21, 1962.

Edna was a member of First Baptist Church. She had previously been a member of Temple Baptist Church in Franklin. She retired from Franklin Plastics.
Her husband spent many years in the military. During that time they lived in Texas and Japan. After that, they lived in Franklin, IN, and Jennings County. She enjoyed housekeeping, shopping, collecting bells, outdoor activities such as watching birds, butterflies, and mushroom hunting. Most of all, she adored her grandchildren.

Edna is survived by sons, Randy (Linda) Coryell of Franklin, and Terry (Dawn) Coryell of Morgantown; brothers, Carl and Cecil Pearson of North Vernon; fifteen grandchildren, thirty - five great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law's Vickie and Paula Coryell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Noel and Douglas Coryell; daughter, Sherry Coryell; several brothers and sisters.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bob Weeks will officiate. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
