Edith Stone, 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Premier Health Care.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Born January 13, 1943, in Pikeville, KY, Edith was the daughter of the late Mallie and Ruby Gayheart Tackett.  She married Philip Stone on October 11, 1969.  He preceded her in death on January 6, 2012.

Edith is survived by three sisters, Rita Risner of North Vernon, Irene Slusher of Beaver, OH, and Linda Tackett of Hanover; and three brothers, Ernie and Will Tackett of Covington, KY, and Gary Tackett of Hebron, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Marie Storer and Brenda Tackett; and one brother, Gene Tackett.
