Edith Mae Corbin, 86, of Seymour, formerly of Commiskey passed away at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour,
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev's. Dan Corbin and Dan DeFriece will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born March 16, 1933, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Journal and Mamie Douglas. She married Harry Corbin on July 25, 1954. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1980.
Edith graduated from Paris Crossing High School in 1951. She was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church. She worked for forty-two years at Regal Rugs until it closed. She enjoyed arranging artificial flowers, puzzle books, and reading.
She is survived by one daughter, Melinda Layman of Seymour; one son; Andy Corbin of Seymour, one brother; Leon Douglas of Austin; sisters, Clara Linscott of Seymour, and Eveline Hensley of Uniontown; granddaughter; Jened Layman of Seymour.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Roy, Robert, James & Chester Douglas; sisters, Pauline Douglas, Dorothy Nelson, Corinne Eckerle, and Martha Randolph.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Muscular Dystrophy Association, or Graham Presbyterian Church, or Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour.
