Edgar Dean Taylor, 91, of Scipio, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1934, in London, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2025, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Don Asbury will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery at a later date.

Dean was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend. A man of strong faith, he loved the Lord deeply and found comfort in God's word throughout his life. He took great joy in tending his garden/yard and had a lifelong love for horses. These passions reflected his hardworking nature.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joenelle Taylor; his son, Jeff Taylor; his daughter, Kathy Stonebraker; his great-grandson, Cody Boyer; his parents, Charley and Parlie Taylor; and his siblings Estil, Louis, Thelma, Earl, and Mary-Ruth.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Charles) Finley; his siblings Les (Wendy) Taylor, Charley (Ginger) Taylor, and Wanda (Willie) Privett; and his grandchildren Brandon (Lauren) Taylor, Tyler (Marissa) Finley, Taylor Finley, Amy (Brad) Bell, and Jeremy Bell.

Dean will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love for his family, and the simple joys that filled his life.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Taylor's memory to the Scipio Fire Department.
