Mr. Doyath Lee Day

Doyath Lee Day, 81, of Nancy, KY, formerly of North Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at his residence.

Born November 24, 1933, in Letcher County, KY, Lee was the son of the late David and Mattie Ingram Day.

Lee served in the United States Air Force. He had been employed at Golden Foundry, and worked many years as Wesport Town Superintendent, where he managed the street department and water works. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include daughter, Tressia Day of North Vernon; three sons, David (Jackie) Day of North Vernon, Michael (Dorenda) Day of Elizabethtown, and Randy (Monica) Day of Erlinger, KY; a sister, Delois Ann Day of Whitesburg, KY; a brother, Doyle (Merelene) Day of Roxanne, KY; eight grandchildren, Kristi Maschino, Danielle Jeffries, Andrea Fox, Sophia and Dylan Day, and Dustin, Branden and Jaime Kennedy; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dauphus Day.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon. Rev. Don Morris will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
