Mrs. Doris Johnson

Doris A. Johnson, 94, formerly of North Vernon passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY.

Born on February 1, 1916 in Seymour, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Mable Harris Wilson. The family moved from Seymour to North Vernon in 1929. She married Charles Johnson on February 27, 1938.

She had worked retail sales and had been a homemaker in past years. She had been a church pianist and organist . She was a member of the First Christian Church of North Vernon and the Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Doris is survived by a daughter, Anita Bush, one granddaughter Holly Boone, a grandson-in-law Buford Boone and two great grandchildren MacKenzie and Braxton Boone all of Springville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 on Monday, March15 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Sweeney officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 until the time of the service. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
