Doris J. Grinstead, 76, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:03 a.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

A memorial service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Jennings Church of Christ. Rev. Marcus Speer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until the start of the service at the church. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on October 27, 1946, in Butlerville, Doris was the loving daughter of Robert and Christine (Bibb) Grinstead.

Doris retired from Cummins Inc. where she worked in Data Entry. She was a member of the Jennings Church of Christ. She had volunteered for Hospice over the years. Doris enjoyed cooking and playing cards in her card club. Most of all, Doris cherished spending time spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors are daughters, Cheri (Steve) Massey, and Lisa (Chris) Allman all of North Vernon; son, Billy (Jennifer) Holmes of North Vernon; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Traci Cox; stepson, Casey Cox.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Christine Grinstead; brother, Robert Lee Grinstead.
