Donald Stephen Ezzo, 72, of Butlerville, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his residence.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Vernon Cemetery.  Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service.

Born August 31, 1945, in Dyersburg, TN, Don was the son of the late Sam and Helen Bishop Ezzo.  He graduated from North Vernon High School in 1963 and from Indiana University in 1969.

Don co-owned and operated Ezzo Meat Company until 1991 and had owned Big Head Pizza for the past 14 years.  He was a member of North Vernon Eagles, Amvets and Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking, fishing, watching baseball, and spending time with his granddaughter.

He is survived by two sons, Nick Ezzo of Butlerville and Chey Ezzo of North Vernon; two daughters, Jade Sophia Ezzo of North Vernon and Samantha Sue Ezzo of Bloomington; one brother, Bret Ezzo of North Vernon; one sister, Mary Jane (Butch) Beach of Scipio; and one granddaughter, Heidi Ernstes of North Vernon.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Joe Don Nathan Ezzo.
