Della Jane Goodwin, 60, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Christ Baptist Church, located at 321 6th Street North Vernon. Rev. Frank McGee and Rev. Mike Biggs will be officiating. Burial will be in the Stipps Hill Cemetery in Franklin County Indiana. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service, and 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Christ Baptist Church on Thursday.

Born on June 3, 1961, in Batesville, Della was the loving daughter of George and Laura (Arvin) Shelton. She was united in marriage to Tim Goodwin in June of 1989. He survives.

Della was a faithful member of Christ Baptist Church. She loved sewing, camping, and traveling. Della was very adventurous and a adrenaline junky. Most important to Della was her family.

In addition to her husband, Tim Goodwin of North Vernon, survivors include mother, Laura Shelton of North Vernon; son, Roger (Chrissy) Brown of Greensburg; daughters, Amanda (Travis) Peters of Westport, and Andrea (Demitrius) Allen of North Vernon; brother, David Shelton of North Vernon; sisters, Sheila Phillips of Lafayette, and Dixie Mott of Bicknell; grandchildren, Andrew and Millie Brown, Jennifer Lang, Ashley and Dale Peters, Morgan and Weston Hall, and Tuff Broughton.

Della was preceded in death by her father, George Shelton; brother, Roger Shelton.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
