Mrs. Deborah L. Root

September 16, 1952 - April 29, 2014

Deborah Lyne Root, 61, of North Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born September 16, 1952, Deborah was the daughter of the late Wilson and Norma Kaiser Hackney. She was married to Michael Root on March 23, 1968. He survives.
A homemaker, Deborah enjoyed flowers, gardening, spending time with her family, and her dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; son, Michael Taylor Root of North Vernon; daughter Kellie Ferguson of North Vernon; ten grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Brenton, Trenton, Chloe, Lindsey, Matthew and Isabella Ferguson, Alisha Brewer and Jerryka Root; and three great grandchildren, Carley and Garrett Ferguson and Karter Brewer.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Ivan Vititoe will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be at Bedford Cemetery in Bedford, KY.
