Obituary

David Anthony Lawson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the age of 66. David was born on March 7, 1960, in Bloomington, Indiana. He worked for notable companies forming concrete like Dave O'Mara Contractor and Lawson & Eller Contracting, and even ran his own business, Monroe County Contracting, for a time.

David was known for his adventurous spirit and loved riding motorcycles. He was a proud member of ABATE in Jennings County and enjoyed camping and all things outdoors. With a heart as big as his love for family, David was the quintessential cowboy at heart, always ready for an adventure or to lend a helping hand.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Annette Quakenbush Lawson, and three sons, Jeremiah, Justin (wife Danielle), and Jacob (wife Amanda), along with a whole bunch of grandkids: Tanner, Mason, Sage, Zariah, Carsyn, Paige, Colten, Emilie, Logan, Aubrey, Wyatt, Camden, and Bryson. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Butcher and Amanda Hourigan, and brother-in-law Fred Hourigan.

A graveside service was held at Vernon Cemetery on September 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM, where family and friends gathered to honor and celebrate the life of a man who cherished his family, his truck, and his loyal dog, Jake.

David will be sorely missed but fondly remembered for his passion for life and his deep love for those around him. Rest easy, David. Your legacy lives on in all of us.

David was preceded in death by parents, George and Caroline Staggs Lawson; son, Craig Lawson; brother, Mike Lawson.
