Mr. David "Wayne" Johnson

December 14, 1947 - January 21, 2012

David "Wayne" Johnson, 64, of Butlerville, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born December 14, 1947, in Jennings County, Wayne was the son of David and Lucille Durham Johnson. He graduated from North Vernon High School in 1966, and married Nancy Castetter on October 28, 1967. She survives.

Wayne served in the Air Force following graduation. He retired from Cummins, Inc., after 30 years of service. He was a life member of VFW Post 2021, a life member of AmVets Post 7, a member of the Moose Lodge 576, Eagles 4097 and American Legion Post 0024. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, Sudoku puzzles, and trap shooting.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Nancy; his mother, Lucille; son, Dan (Amanda) Johnson; sister, Brenda (Lee) Wainscott; and brother, Richard Johnson, all of Butlerville.

He was preceded in death by his father, David, and his brother, Jerry Johnson.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 11 AM, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 24. Burial will be at Otter Creek Cemetery in Nebraska.
