Daniel Lee Matern, 69, of North Vernon passed away at 11:18 AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Born on March 19, 1956, in Seymour, Daniel was the son of Joseph and Agnes Ebbing Matern.

He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1974. He worked as a tool maker for many years until he retired.

Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family and playing poker.

He is survived by sons, Damian, Dustin, Devin, and Dale Matern; brothers, Donnie (Eileen) Matern, Roger (Kim) Matern, and Charles "Chuck" (Sheree) Matern; sisters, Patty (Ron) Kintner, Mary Jo Kent, and Sharon (Tom) Low; sister-in-law, Tammy Matern; twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes Matern; brother, Larry "Cooter" Matern; brother-in-law, Bob Kent.

In accordance with Daniel's wishes no services are planned.
