Mrs. Cynthalena Corya

Cynthalena (Cindy) Corya, 60, of North Vernon passed away at 8:22 PM Friday, July 3, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born November 1, 1954, in Seymour, Cindy was the daughter of Floyd and Lily Monteen Martin Koerner. She married Bert Corya on April 12, 1980.

She graduated from Seymour High School in 1972. She worked as a nurse for thirty-nine years. She was passionate about her work and continued with her education until earning her Bachelors of Nursing degree in 2009. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and A.O.R.N. Traveling, spending time with her family, and helping others were some of the things she enjoyed most. She also loved her dog, Sissy.

She is survived by her husband, Bert Corya of North Vernon; daughter, Dr. Andi Corya of Indianapolis; son, Daniel (Kelley) Mullen of Bloomington; grandchildren, Tanner, Emma, and Ryder Mullen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joann Prather; brother, Donnie Koerner.

Funeral Information

A funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Scott Chasteen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.
