Mrs. Cylesta Mae Shasteen

Cylesta Mae Shasteen, 86, North Vernon, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 4:08 a.m. at Jennings Healthcare Center.

Born August 7, 1923 in Seymour, IN Cylesta was the daughter of Eva and Ernest Banks. She married Winfred Shasteen on August 29, 1953.

Cylesta was a homemaker. She enjoyed flowers, birds, fishing, and took great pride in her home, children, and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Winfred of North Vernon; daughters, Patricia Billman of Edinburg, Kathie Flohr of Columbus, and Debbie Roe of North Vernon; sons, Dana Shasteen of Indianapolis, Thomas Shasteen of Brownstown, and Jon Shasteen of Seymour; a step-daughter, Brenda Timbrook of North Carolina; sisters, Sundra Leaheigh and Peggy Myers of North Vernon; brother, Davis Banks of Seymour; eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Cylesta was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Effie Knott and a brother, Hershel Banks.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.
