Mr. Clifford Douglas King

February 14, 1945 - September 07, 2012

Clifford Douglas King, 67, of North Vernon, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence.

Born February 14, 1945, in Middlesboro, KY, Clifford was the son of the late Clifford and Nettie Wilder King. He married Charlotte Adams on September 30, 1984. She preceded him in death.

Clifford retired from Harvard Industries in Jackson, MI, where he was employed as a machine operator. He loved old cars, especially his 1992 black Cadillac that his wife had bought him. He loved woodworking, making yard ornaments and other gifts. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, and loved big family gatherings.

Clifford is survived by four daughters, Teresa (Virgil) VanOver of Kentucky, Pamela (Tom) Hackworth of Michigan, Amanda (Dean) Bay and Tianna Low of North Vernon; one son, Donald (Griselda) Elliott of Seymour; four brothers, Wendell Turner of Texas, Jimmy King of Michigan, Harold (Joyce) King of Tennessee, and Curtis King of Ohio; two sisters, Joyce (Terry) Garner of Michigan and Rea Fattler of Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Cassie Adams, Vera (Michael) Wilcox, and Barbara Collett, all of North Vernon; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clifford is preceded in death by mother- and father-in-law, Jesse and Carla Adams; daughter, Sarah King; son, Dustin King; two brothers, Cecil and Earl Marsee; and brother-in-law, Jay Fattler.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Jeremy King will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at Vernon Cemetery.
