Christina Kreutzjans Mitchell, 82, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Lutheran Community Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, with a rosary service beginning at 3:30 p.m., at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation.  Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.

Born July 14, 1934, in Indianapolis, Christina was the daughter of Stanley and Cecelia (Roell) McIntire. She married Loren Mitchell in 1981 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2006.

She owned her own sewing business, Christina's, and Employment Brokers in Indianapolis. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and she enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, reading and outdoor activities.

Survivors include six children, Michael (Nancy) Kreutzjans, Paul (Kim) Kreutzjans, Jovita Williams, Karen (Kevin) Begeman, Marie (Scott) Rayburn and Loretta (Paul) Nelson; a sister, Carol Ramsey of Evansville; ten grandchildren, Becky McKindles, Sasha Edmondson, Sheryl Deaton, Nate Williams, Rachel Doty, Brandon and Kellen Begeman, Lauren Megel, Alex and Kyleigh Nelson; and seven great-grandchildren, Gavin Williams, Henry, Lia, Walter Edmondson, Hunter Deaton, Abigail and Madelyn Megel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Schneck Hospice or Mercy Rescue.
