Mr. Charles H. Vogel

December 13, 1936 - December 18, 2013

Charles H. Vogel, 77, of Four Corners passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his residence.

Born December 14, 1936, at Four Corners, Charles was the son of Sylvester and Irene Elsner Vogel. He married Beverly Wilkerson October 25, 1958. She survives.

Mr. Vogel was lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners, Knights of Columbus Council 10422, National Farmers Organization, and previously served at Spencer Township Trustee. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his wife, Beverly Vogel of Four Corners; sons, Michael Vogel of Henryville, Scott (Heather) Vogel of North Vernon; daughters, Melissa (Tom) Skirvin of Vevay, and Barbara (Scott) Walker of Indianapolis; brothers, Tom Vogel of Hayden, Leonard Vogel of Madison, Paul Vogel of Hayden, Bob Vogel of Commiskey, David Carr of Sellersburg, and Henry Carr of Hayden; sisters, Anna Mae Raver of Oldenburg, Kathlene Baurley of North Vernon, Elizabeth Bridges of Hayden, Jeanette Heckman of Holland, MI, Marie Laymon of Kent, Maria Tempest of Sellersburg, Joyce Vogel of Hayden, and Colleen Gerth of Seymour; mother - in - law, Mary Wilkerson of Scipio; grandchildren, Lori Smith, Valerie and Ryan Skirvin, Cheryl Hunt, Eric Phung, Chaz Vogel, Courtney Olds, Cirstyn Perry, Kyle, Clayton, Morgan, and Tyler Vogel; 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Chris and Greg Vogel.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 22, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners. Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery. A Rosary service will be conducted at 3:30 PM, and visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
