Mr. Charles Everett Hanmore

August 15, 1939 - November 11, 2012

Charles Everett "Chuck" Hanmore, 73, of North Vernon, was called home into the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born August 15, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, IN, Chuck was the son of the late Everett and Beulah Mason Hanmore. He married Billie Davis on August 15, 1996. She survives.

Chuck graduated from Mt. Vernon High School where he majored in auto mechanics. He had previously been self-employed in an auto/welding repair shop. He retired from Boilermaker Water Tower, and following retirement, and until the time of his death, he was employed at St. Anne Golf Course. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, VFW, and Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, and gardening including canning salsa, hot sauce, & dill pickles. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and didn't know a stranger. He has a heart of service and helped those in need.

In addition to his wife, Billie, Chuck is survived by 5 daughters, Sherrie (Jerry) Greene of North Vernon, Debbie (Denny) Ricketts of Mt Vernon, Becky (George) Minton, of Monroe, N.C., Lora Thomas of Seymour, Tammy (Bill) Ricketts, of New Harmony, IN; one son, Chuck Hanmore; a brother, Carl Hanmore; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Claude, Richard, and John Hanmore; and one sister, Inez (Sissy) Hanmore.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon. Rev. Anthony Sweeney and Bro. Ricky Persons will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.

Donations Information

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Angel Tree Fund at Bethel Baptist Church.
