Mr. Charles Cobb

November 09, 1938 - September 12, 2013

Charles Cobb, 74, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at his residence.

Born November 9, 1938, in Manchester, KY, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Stella Hollin Cobb. He married Nancy Miller on December 27, 1985, in Tennessee. She survives.

Charles had worked for 34 years at Cummins, Inc. He retired from the V903 assembly line at Seymour High Horsepower Engine Plant. He was a member of the American Legion in Seymour and of the Diesel Workers Union. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, camping and woodworking.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by two daughters, Holli (Joseph) Barger of Commiskey and Leslie Shepherd of Bloomington; a son, David (Shannon) Shepherd of North Vernon; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher Allen Cobb; two brothers, Critt and Joe Hollin; and stepfather, Pete Hollin.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Matt Snodgrass and Rev. Wayne England will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be at Hayden Cemetery.
