Charles D. Carson, 66, of Elizabethtown passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in Edinburgh.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. KEndall Wildey will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

Born in Seymour on April 8, 1957, Charles was the son of Robert D. and Yvonne Helt Carson. He married Margaret Kirchner on May 19, 1979. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2021.

Charles worked as a tool maker at the George Utz Company in Edinburgh. He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1976. He enjoyed traveling and was a devoted father and grandfather.

Charles is survived by daughters, Michelle (Justin) Colglazier of Elizabethtown, Dianna (Tyler) Davitto of Danville, and Karla (Chris) Gholson of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Ethan, Jaidalyn, Elena, Carson, Sophia, Gabriella, and Jaxon; brother, William (Dana) Carson; and sister, Linda Ross of Elizabethtown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Mary's Catholic School.
