Casher M. South, 75, of Columbus, died at 1:04 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital of Columbus, Indiana.

There will be no services at this time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are in the care of Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Born October 19, 1943, in Jamestown, TN, Casher was the son of Sherman and Roxie (Pennycuff) South, both of whom preceded Casher in death. He married Kim Childers on November 6, 1999. She survives.

Casher enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and softball.

In addition to his wife, Kim Childers South of Columbus, survivors include sons Troy (Andi) South of North Vernon and Jaxson South of Columbus; sisters, Denise South of North Vernon, Cortney South of Columbus, Betty Ruble, Myrna South, and Kay Upchurch; brothers, Roger South, Harley South, Gary South, Wendell South, and Jim South; grandchildren, Brandon, Gavin, Tyler, Jake, Kayli, Kaleb, Nick, and Alexis; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Casher was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Hoover.
