Mrs. Carolyn Spellman

Carolyn Spellman, 69, formerly of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born June 2, 1945, in Scott County, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Francis and Lillie Bowling Adams. She married Parker Spellman, Jr. in 1962, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2001.

Carolyn retired from Walmart Supercenter, where she was employed in the customer service department. She enjoyed shopping and going to casinos.

Survivors include a son, Mark A. Spellman of Sellersburg; daughter, Marcia Adaway of North Vernon; brother, Marrel Smith of Michigan; twelve grandchildren, Nicholas Cain, Jacob Walsh, Justin and Miranda Hammond, Andrea and Katie Cook, Pamela, Tonya and Mandy Conrad, and Erica, Susie and Sara George; and great grandson, Bryson Engleking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Parker; daughter, Melissa Hammond; and brother, Larry Adams.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Edward Wooddell will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, IN.
