Carol L. Johnson, 60, of North Vernon passed away at 8:32 AM Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Inpatient Facility.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 12:00 PM Thursday until the time of the service.

Born in Jackson County on November 28, 1956, Carol was the daughter of Floyd and Marilyn Arney Tungeitt. She married Jerry Ray Johnson on March 19, 1978. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1997.

Carol had graduated from Ivy Tech with a Certified Nursing Assistant degree. She worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center, Jennings Health Care Center, and as a private caregiver. She really enjoyed taking care of people. She was a member of Butlerville Mennonite Church.

She is survived by a son, Jeremiah Johnson of Hanover; daughter, Misty Dawn Johnson of North Vernon; brothers, Donald Tungeitt of FL., Gary and Dennis Tungeitt of North Vernon; grandchildren, Zachariah, Jeremy, Abrianna, Peyton, Lillee, and Serenity Johnson, and Haley Clark; one great-granddaughter, Raylynn Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
