Carmen S. Uribe

Carmen S. Uribe, 89, of North Vernon, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 11:11 PM at the Jennings Health Care Center .

Born July 16, 1919 in Laredo, TX., she was the daughter of the late Pablo and Sarah (Garcia) Saenz. She later married Gustavo A Uribe. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Mrs.Uribe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a homemaker, an avid reader, talented in art, piano, poetry and very proud of her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarah (Michael) Loudermelk of North Carolina, Mariea "Luly" (James) Garrity of San Antonio, Texas and Melly (Dennis) Apsley of North Vernon, three sisters, Rosa Rigal, Olivia Bravo of Texas and Irene Barrow of California, grandchildren, Melissa Dyson, Jennifer Carney, Anthony Loudermelk, Melanie Sandlin and Alejandra Garrity and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Pablo Saenz and two sisters, Alicia Saenz and Esther Salinas.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Jonathan Meyer officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, 4:00-8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery
