Carla L. Valentine, 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Brother Blake Hudman will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service at the church. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on September 4, 1949, in Indianapolis, Carla was the loving daughter of Carl and Jean (McFatridge) Jones. She was united in marriage to Roger E. Valentine on May 10, 1975. He survives.

Carla was a High School graduate from Monrovia, Indiana. She had worked as a salesclerk for Lazarus. Carla was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, making wreaths, going camping, and spending time in the kitchen cooking. Most of all, Carla cherished making memories with her beloved family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Roger Valentine of North Vernon, survivors include sons, Brian (Rosie) Valentine of Avon, and Andrew (Jessica) Valentine of Pittsboro; daughters, Kimberly (Angel) Rodriguez of Athens, AL., and Amber Valentine of Tampa Bay, FL.; grandchildren, Jordan, and Arianna Rodriguez both of Athens, AL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jean Jones; brother, David Jones.

Memorial donations can be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or the Schneck Hospice.
