It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bliss Michelle Sutton, who left us on September 8, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on October 28, 1970, in Seymour, Indiana, Bliss spent her life as a devoted homemaker, nurturing her family and spreading joy to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by her husband Brent Sutton of North Vernon, her mother Norma Daugherty of North Vernon, and her loving children-daughter Brechelle (Tyler) Landwehr and son Brendan (Reina) Sutton both of North Vernon.
Bliss was the proud grandmother of Eden and Kallel, who filled her life with laughter and love. She will also be remembered by her siblings: sister, Amie (Aaron) Smith of Seymour, brother, Rob (Kim) Daugherty of Seymour, and sisters, Jessica Sharp and Christy Everett, both of North Vernon, along with many cherished relatives and friends.
Bliss was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She graduated from Jennings County High School in the class of 1990. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, camping, fishing, and going to the beach. She also had a great love of animals.
Family and friends will gather for a public visitation at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service on September 10, 2026, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am to celebrate Bliss's life and the impact she had on all of us. A Mass in her honor will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Church at 11:00 am on the same day. Fr. Chris Craig will officiate. Following the ceremonies, Bliss will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in Bliss's memory to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In the days to come, let us remember Bliss for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared so freely. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Bliss was preceded in death by her father, Danny Daugherty.
