Beverly A. Shepard, 80, of Dupont, passed away at 7:28 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Our Hospice of South Central in Columbus.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Pastor Jacob Ross and Jacob Adcock will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the funeral home.

Born on April 24, 1943, in Seymour, Beverly was the loving daughter of Frank Proctor and Janet Hope Wilson. She was united in marriage to Bill Shepard on June 17,1987. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1997.

Beverly retired from the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center and then worked at Ruth's Arts and Crafts in Dupont. She was a member of the Commiskey Baptist Church. Beverly enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, crocheting, and working puzzle books. Most of all, Beverly loved spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish Beverly's memory is her son, Larry (Teresa) Jones of Dupont; daughter, Lauri Young of Dupont; brothers, Ronald (Patricia) Proctor of Fort Wayne, and David Proctor of North Vernon; grandchildren, Heather (Jeff Marshall) Kessler, Levi (Emily Gribble) Young, Justin (Savannah) Jones, and Jessica (Damian Wilson) Jones; great grandchildren, Scotty & Chelsie Kessler, Aurora Naomi Young, and sixteen additional great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; best friend, Polly Kester of Dupont; and her dog, Baby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Proctor, and Janet Proctor; husband, Bill Shepard; brother, Daniel Proctor; and sister in law, Mary Proctor.
