Miss Betty Horstman

Mary E. "Betty" Horstman, 84, of North Vernon passed away at 6:10 AM Monday, December 3, 2012 at Jennings Healthcare Center.

Born September 7, 1928 in North Vernon, Betty was the daughter of Joseph Owen and Rose Elizabeth Noon Horstman.

Betty was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and Legion of Mary. She graduated from North Vernon High School in 1946. She retired from Union Bank & Trust Co. where she worked as a teller for 28 years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and traveling. She had been a caregiver for her elderly family members on several occasions.

She is survived by one brother, Bill (Ruth Ann) Horstman, and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Joe and Robert Horstman, and one sister, Rita Eaken.

Funeral Information

A funeral mass will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating. A rosary service will be conducted at 9:00 AM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
