Mrs. Betty Lou Fippen

July 24, 1925 - October 20, 2009

Betty Lou Green Fippen, age 84 of Columbus, formerly of Jennings, died at her daughter's home on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 6:38 p.m., peacefully with her family by her side.

Born July 24, 1925 in Commiskey , IN., she was the daughter of Sebe Green and Hazel Branham Green. She married Robert C. Fippen January 1, 1943 in Jennings County, he preceded her in death in 1988.

She retired from Muscatatuck State Hospital and Training Center and lived most of her life in Jennings County.

She enjoyed golf, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by : a daughter Mary Driver of Columbus with whom she made her home. a son Richard Fippen of Taylorsville, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren. a brother, Paul Green of North Vernon, a sister, Helen Harmon of Camp Hill , PA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, Gilbert and Marion Green, and a daughter Bobbie Jean Bays.

Funeral Information

Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at a later date, for information contact Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home or the family.
