Mrs. Betty R. Day

Betty R. Day, 82, of North Vernon passed away at 5:30 AM Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

Born July 1, 1932, Betty was the daughter of Jessie R. and Elizabeth Miles Earl. She married Thomas Day. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Betty graduated from North Vernon High School in 1950. She worked at Arvin Industries and then Jennings County Schools as a teachers aid for thirty years. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a very talented artist. Her specialty was painting and drawing. She also enjoyed playing the piano.

She is survived by one son, Dennis W. (Claudette) Day of North Vernon; and one grandson, Dennis A. Day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Eugene Earl.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Anthony Sweeney will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
