Berniece Ann Campfield, 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:22 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Joel Willis will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Born on July 1, 1950, in Seymour, Berniece was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Emma Vivian (Kendall) Campfield.

Berniece had owned The Fish House in Vernon years ago, she managed Midway Café for several years, and had worked as a caregiver. She loved to go fishing and enjoyed going to the casino. Berniece also found pleasure in crocheting, playing bingo, and dancing. She was always ready to enjoy a good cup of coffee and cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish Berniece's memory is her daughter, Tracy Jerrell of North Vernon; son, Kelly Sabelhaus; brother, Dan (Barb) Campfield of North Vernon; grandchildren, Abigail (Hayden) Decker, Carissa Sabelhaus, Emily Sabelhaus, Joshua (Cassie) Sabelhaus, Justin (Chas) Jerrell, and Jessica Jerrell; great grandchildren, Cameron and Danny Woodward.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Campfield; companion, Don Chaille; sons, Robert Raymond Sabelhaus III, and Danny Ray Sabelhaus.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the funeral home for expenses.
