Mr. Benjamin C. Elston

March 19, 1978 - December 10, 2008

Benjamin C. Elston, 30, of Columbus, (formerly of North Vernon), passed away Wednesday morning, December 10, 2008 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born March 19, 1978 in Sioux Falls, SD, he was the son of Barry A. Elston and Marcia Taggart Leahigh, they survive.

Mr. Elston was a 1996 graduate of Jennings County High School. He was employed at Smith's Row in Columbus. Mr. Elston enjoyed playing the bass guitar, playing ping pong, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends.

Mr. Elston is survived by his father, Barry A. Elston, his mother and step-father, Marcia and Phil Leahigh, a brother, Beau (Laramie) Elston, two sisters, Mary Katherine "Katie" Elston and Meredith K. Elston, all of North Vernon, two step-sisters, Stephanie Roth of North Vernon and Cortney Cloud of Hanover, a grandmother, Mary M. Rogers and a niece and nephew, Marlee and Maddix Elston, all of North Vernon.

Mr. Elston was preceded in death by his grandparents, Keith L. Rogers, Roy Taggart and Melba Schultz.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 AM to time of service.
