Beatrice Meadows, 88, of Greensburg, formerly of North Vernon passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Hickory Creek Nursing in Greensburg.

Born on March 19, 1922 in Owen County, KY. She was the daughter of Attila and Goldie Reynolds James. She married William Robert Meadows. He preceded her in death in August of 2002.

Beatrice was a homemaker and had worked at the Swing-Inn Restaurant in North Vernon. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Letts. She worked at raising her family, enjoyed photography, crocheting, canning and sewing clothing for her family.

She is survived by five sons, Eddie (Nancy) Montgomery, Larry (Beulah) Montgomery both of Butlerville, Richard Royse of Brewersville, Calvin (Etta) Royse of Lovett, and Robert (Betty) Meadows of Greensburg and three daughters, Judy (John) Gatriel and Joyce Wilson both of North Vernon, Linda Ailes of Westport and daughter-in-law, Sandra Meadows of Greensburg, a brother, David (Marie) James of Butlerville and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Billy Meadows; daughter, Carol Ann Meadows; sister, Lillian Wells and brother, Eddie James.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 24 , 2010 at 10:0 a.m. at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. Rev. Gary East will officiate Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Rock Creek Cemetery.
