Barbara J. Streepy, 84, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:42 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019, at her residence.

No services are to be held.  Cremation has been requested.  Arrangements are in the care of Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Born April 7, 1935, in Davies County, IN, Barbara was the daughter of Martin and Mary Mattingly Tomey.  She married Richard Streepy on December 22, 1956 and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2008.

She retired from Caterpillar was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #252.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading romance novels, cracking hickory nuts, carrot cake and Wheel of Fortune.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Roberts of Coal City, IN and Debra Fowler of North Vernon; two sons, Mark Streepy of Bradenton, FL and David Streepy of North Vernon; two brothers, Gary Tomey of Florida and Roger Tomey of Greenwood; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, William Tomey and sister, Sue Barton.
