B. Katherine Browning

B. Katherine Browning, 70, of Commiskey passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

Born on August 5, 1939 in Wirt, she was the daughter of the late Steve Simmons and Elsie Alma (Aldridge) Rowlett. She later married Earl Browning on December 23, 1963. He died November 29, 1980.

She enjoyed sewing, fishing, carpentry and spending time with her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Earlene Nyhart of Killbuck, OH and Tarina Bullard of Commiskey, six grandchildren Dejah Nyhart, Morgan Nyhart, Emma, Liam, Samuel and Lyndsey Bullard; a sister, Barbara Heitz of Elizabethtown; a brother, Ronald Rowlett of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Harold, William and Robert Rowlett, and two sisters, Brenda Rowlett and Nellie Alvey.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Allman officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
