Mr. Arnold E. Robbins

November 15, 1935 - July 11, 2011

Arnold E. Robbins, 75 of North Vernon passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon.
Born November 15, 1935 in Sullivan, IN, Arnold was the son of the late Raymond and Vena Eisenhower Robbins. Mr. Robbins served on the USS Wisconsin from 1955 to 1957 while in the United States Navy. He had been employed in the past with Cummins Engine Company, North Vernon Electric, and Regal Rugs.
Arnold was a member of the First Apostolic Church in North Vernon and loved to play the piano and do crossword puzzles. He also had tuned and repaired pianos for several people for years.
He is survived by two sons, Doug and Marty (Cheryl) Robbins both of North Vernon, one daughter, Pam (David) Pratt of North Vernon, one sister, Josephine Engleking of Seymour, three grandchildren, Jason Pratt, Rebekah Phillippe, and Tonya Robbins all of North Vernon, and four great-grandchildren, Cadence and Ashlyn Pratt and Branson and Bentley Phillippe.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ottis Robbins, and three sisters, Nola Bruce, Phyllis Anderson, and Audrey Lynn.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. John Willis officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW post 2021.
