Arnold Dean Hendrix, Sr., 63, of Commiskey, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016, at his residence.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016, at Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing. The Rev. Will Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery.

Born November 25, 1952, in Scott County, Mr. Hendrix was the son of Leonard and Mable (Barnes) Hendrix. He graduated from Jennings County High School, and he married Maria Garcia on March 1, 1985, in Springfield, Kentucky. She survives.

Dean retired from Cummins, Inc., after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include wife, Maria; four sons, Arnold Dean (Heather) Hendrix, Jr., of Indianapolis, Hector Burton of Scottsburg, Hector Hendrix of Commiskey and Omar Burton of Branchville, Indiana; two daughters, Becky Hendrix of Seymour and Kathleen (Mike) Parrett of Vallonia; four brothers, Jerry (Linda) Hendrix, John (Denna) Hendrix, Bob (Myra) Hendrix and Leonard (Tamara) Hendrix; three sisters, Linda Ritchison, Carol (Gary) Applegate and Shirley (Tony) Bryant; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charity.
