Mrs. Anna Mae Ray

Anna Mae Ray, 84, of North Vernon passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 at her residence.

Born January 20, 1926 in Commiskey, Anna was the daughter Kenneth "Abe" and Mamie Engel Layman.

Anna graduated from Paris Crossing High School in 1944. She married Leroy "Bill" Ray. He preceded her in death in 1972. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Union Bank & Trust Company for many years before retiring.
She is survived by two children, Danny Ray of North Vernon, and Tony (Bridget) Ray of Commiskey; grandchildren, Nichole (Jeremy) Hendrix, William and Adrian Ray; several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Hearne officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
